Google Introduced October 2023 Spam Update

Google Recent Update

In its recent spam update, Google has stated that they are rolling out yet another update for addressing the occurrence of spam. In its October 2023 Spam Update Google is going to reduce the visible spam in search results such as scraped spam, auto-generated, cloaking, and hacked.  

Although this latest Google update has not been rolled out completely yet and will take some time, more details on this will be released later. 

Previous Google Updates

This is not the first time when Google is rolling out such spam updates. Before the October 2023 Spam update, there were other updates released by Google. Earlier this year Google released its Google August 2023 Core update, and Google September 2023 content update.

In the last year Google released two updates: the October 2022 spam update along with the December 2022 link spam update. 

Going further in the past, Google also released another update in November 2022, along with a two-part update being released in 2021 in the month of June, and July.

These constant updates from Google to reduce the spams and make internet search a seamless and better experience has been highly appreciated by the community. Additionally, there have been incidents of mass reporting of any spam occurrence to Google in the similar aspect.  

Why was it released? 

Google while releasing this update stated that they are addressing the occurrence of these spams that have been reported in various language searches such as Hindi, Turkish, Indonesian, Chinese, Vietnamese, and others. A large community has reported spam occurrence issues mainly in these languages, and hence this latest Google update. 

Additionally, Google also mentioned that this update is going to take a few weeks to be rolled out completely and advised websites to keep a check on their rankings, if getting affected they might want to consider complying with their sites as per Google's spam policies.
