Google Adds New Feature ‘Query Groups’ to The Search Console

Google has launched yet another feature to make search console data and reporting more convenient for SEO professionals. This feature is called ‘Query Groups’ and has been added to the Search Console Insights report. It groups similar search queries together, giving you insights into key topics that your audience searches for.

One of the common problems faced by website owners and SEO agencies while analyzing search performance data was that there used to be multiple variations of the same search query. The new ‘query groups’ feature eliminates this issue by grouping all these similar queries and showing their data in one place. Instead of long lists of the same queries, you will now see an enhanced version of search queries data on Google Search Console.

Google Search Central recently announced the launch of ‘query groups’ – a new feature that groups all similar search queries in the Search Console Insights report. They wrote, “We are excited to announce Query groups, a powerful Search Console Insights feature that groups similar search queries.” Here’s how this feature is going to help SEO professionals and website owners with search performance data analysis:

    • It groups all the similar queries together. These include misspelled queries, queries having the same meaning but written differently, and the same queries in different languages. 
    • These groups are created using AI and can change or evolve over time.
    • These are designed to provide a better high-level perspective of your queries without affecting the rankings.
  • Rollout date: The query groups feature is still rolling out and will gradually roll out over the next few weeks.
  • Availability: This feature is only available for websites that have a large volume of queries.
