Google Search Console 'Recommendations' Feature is Now Fully Live
Posted By Gaurav | 27-Nov-2024 | Search Engine OptimizationGoogle Search Console introduced a new feature called ‘recommendations’ in August 2024. It was an experimental feature earlier and was visible to only limited users. But Google has now completed the rollout and the ‘recommendations’ feature is now available on the GSC dashboard of all users. If you still don’t see any recommendations on your dashboard, it’s because Google has nothing to recommend.
Google posted on LinkedIn, “We're happy to let you know that Recommendations are now available to everyone! Note that you'll see them only if we have a recommendation available for your website.” Let’s have a detailed look at what this feature is all about:
What is the Google Search Console Recommendations Feature?
The feature ‘recommendations’ is a new section added to the Search Console dashboard of users, which displays relevant recommendations to improve their site’s performance. If Google has recommendations for your website, such as viewing the performance of a page, reviewing reports, or anything, it will be visible on the home page of your GSC dashboard.

You will be able to see majorly three types of recommendations under this feature, which include:
-
Potential Opportunities: Things that will help you improve traffic to your website and its overall performance.
-
Issues with the website: Issues that you can fix to maintain your site’s performance.
-
Configuration: Things that will help you work more easily.

Why Can’t I See Recommendations?
As mentioned earlier, Google will show recommendations only when there is something to recommend for your website. Google explained this saying, “even after complete rollout, we'll only provide recommendations when we have a recommendation available for your website.” So, there is nothing to worry about if you don’t see any recommendations on your site. It’s probably because you are doing well so far.
How Is It Going to Help?
The recommendations feature will make it easier for website owners and SEO professionals to recognize potential issues of their websites and identify opportunities easily. Google wrote, “this can help you prioritize your search optimization efforts, such as using structured data to help Google understand your content, adding sitemaps, and checking out trending queries and pages.”
Again, if you are not able to see this section on your GSC dashboard, it’s because Google doesn’t have any recommendations for your site. But if you see them, we advise you to make the best use of it by fixing the mentioned issues and performing required actions to improve the performance of your website.
