You Can Now Validate Responses From Bard Using Google Search
Posted By Gaurav | 25-Sep-2023 | Search Engine OptimizationBard, the AI chat service of Google, has become very popular these days. Google keeps adding new features to Bard in order to make it more relevant for the users. Recently, Google has improved a lot of its features and also added some new features to the chatbot. Though Bard is an advanced AI chatbot with many latest features, it has been in controversy for generating accurate or invalid content. To solve this issue, Google has added a new feature to the chatbot, allowing its users to double-check the validity of its responses.
With the recent update to Bard AI, Google has made several improvements to it as listed below:
1. Double-Check The Responses With Google Search
Google has updated the ‘Google-It’ button present within Bard in order to make it easier for users to double-check Bard’s responses. When you click on the ‘G’ icon to Google the answer provided by Bard, it reads the response and checks whether supporting information is available across the web. It should be noted that this improvement is only applicable to English results as of now.
Similar content or supporting information is highlighted in green and the contradicting information is highlighted in yellow color. You can click on the highlighted content to get further information about the results found by the search. Adding to this, Google said that the links found under this feature are found by Google Search and do not necessarily influence Bard’s initial response.
2. Bard Extensions
Under its recent update, Google is also rolling out some new extensions for Bard. These extensions are especially for the other products of Google, including Google Maps, Gmail, Docs, Drive, YouTube, Google Hotels, Google Flights, etc. Google gave an example to demonstrate how it works. Suppose you are planning an official trip. You can ask Bard to come up with a date that works for everyone on Gmail. Moreover, Bard can check the flights, hotels, and even the routes via Google Maps, all within a single conversation.
3. Shared Conversations
Whatever conversation you make on Bard, you can now share it with your friends. Not only this, but your friends can also take the conversation further if they want. You can create a public link to your conversation by clicking on the share icon available within Bard. Then either you or your friends can continue the chat to ask additional questions on the same topic.
4. Expanding Features to More Languages
Many of Bard’s features are only accessible to the English language. With its recent update, Google aims to expand its features to more languages. These features include the ability to search images in Bard’s responses, upload images with Google Lens, and modify responses of Bard. Google is now expanding all these features to 40 supported languages. So, language is not going to be a barrier now with Bard.
5. Bard is Now Even Smarter
Google made some improvements to the PaLM2 models, which have made Bard even more capable, useful, and intelligent. Google said that it has applied state-of-the-art reinforcement learning techniques to train the model and make it more imaginative and intuitive.
Now, it is possible to start in one language and continue in any of the 40 supporting ones, collaborate on creative things, and ask for more in-depth coding assistance on Bard. Google added that Bard can now provide responses of even better quality and higher accuracy.
Conclusion
The updated Bard is even better than its earlier versions. Its ability to validate responses with Google Search has made it much more reliable for users. Though this improvement is only applicable to English results as of now, Google has expanded its other features to more languages, making the software more useful and relevant for users who like to converse in languages other than English.
